Sky Unveiled, by Meridian Field. Last updated 5 November 2026.

Sky Unveiled has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising. It does not use your headset's microphone or camera.

Your location

The app asks for your location so that it can show the sky as it looks from there. On first launch it starts at a city in your headset's time zone, and you can choose another city in its Location dialog. The place you choose stays on your headset and is never sent to us or to anyone else.

What stays on your headset

To remember your choices between visits, the app keeps these in its own storage on your headset:

• the place you chose for the sky, as a latitude and a longitude;
• your choices for some of the app's switches;
• whether you have seen the guided tour;
• and, until you close the app, a note that it was opened from the app installed from the store.

The app uses them only to remember your choices. None of this is sent to us or to anyone else.

What the app loads

Everything the app shows, from the stars and pictures to the sounds and the narrator's voice, comes from its own website, sky.meridianfield.online. Like every website, the server that sends these files sees your headset's IP address in order to send them. We do not use it to identify you.

Requesting data deletion

All users can ask us to delete their data at any time by emailing hello@stargazingbuddy.com.

Changes

If the app ever starts to collect anything more, this page will say so first, with a new date.
